ABOUT
I am an independent communications contractor and freelancer with over 30 years of experience. I have been an approved supplier to Communications Nova Scotia since 2002.
My training includes a BA from the University of Calgary, a journalism degree from the University of King’s College, and editing workshops from Editors Canada. I am a member of PLAIN (Plain Language Association International).
I create highly engaging and readable content with the appropriate voice for my clients’ newsletters, magazines, and online publications. In each of my assignments, I deliver clean, clear, and concise copy. I am a strong supporter of plain language and encourage my clients to use inclusive language.
I have excellent long-term project management skills and an eye for consistency in lengthy and multi-authored documents. My clients know they can count on me to meet their deadline, adapt to the evolving needs of their project, and stay within their budget. I am friendly, creative, and approachable, and I bring genuine enthusiasm to my work.
I work from my home in the small town of Truro, Nova Scotia, in Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq. When the weather is nice, I like to proofread in the garden, surrounded by ferns, maples, and evergreens.
